Laconi to race before home crowd after hectic recent schedule

Regis Laconi will race in front of his home crowd this weekend aboard the Aprilia RS3 after a busy schedule this past week working at the Mugello circuit in Italy to continue the evolution of the Aprilia 4-stroke prototype. In those tests, the French-Italian rider was using two bikes, one which he usually races, and another with a completely different set-up.

Tomorrow will be the first day that French fans get to see Laconi performing on the ever-developing 4-stroke in his homeland, and the 26 year-old is looking forward to the moment. ´I can´t wait to go back to Le Mans after a year away. It won´t be easy though as there will be a lot of pressure on me as I´m racing at home. I´ll cope with that pressure by working with the same intensity as I do at any other race.´

Laconi will tomorrow get his first chance, along with the other riders, to see the modifications that have been carried out to the French track. ´I´ve still not seen the changes they´ve made to the circuit, but what I can say is that it is always a very difficult track from a technical point of view, with a lot of hard braking and acceleration´.
