Randy Mamola looks back on the Gran Premio Cinzano D´Italia

Perhaps the first thing you have to read into the race in Mugello, is that at the moment nobody can get the upper hand on the Honda RC211V. Carlos Checa and Max Biaggi tried to do just that all weekend, and despite doing a very good job they just couldn´t manage it.

Checa was unfortunate because at this Grand Prix he broke three engines. However Yamaha are progressing, that´s for sure. Suzuki also had some bad luck because Roberts had been lapping fast all weekend before his problems in the race. Once again the performance of Proton was significant.
