Marlboro Yamaha Team have moved up into second place of the Team World Championship after the Gauloises Dutch TT at Assen. Max Biaggi and Carlos Checa collected a total of 29 points to move above West Honda Pons duo Alex Barros and Loris Capirossi. The Brazilian picked up 20 points in second place last Saturday but the Italian failed to score after crashing out of the lead group in the early stages of the race.

Repsol Honda continue to extend their lead at the top of the standings as Valentino Rossi maintains his impressive winning streak. The World Championship winning squad have clocked up 278 points already this season, 137 more than Marlboro Yamaha.

Away from the top three there is a close battle for fourth place between Antena 3 Yamaha D'Antín, who have 63 points, Gauloises Yamaha Tech 3 (55), Fortuna Honda Gresini (51), Red Bull Yamaha WCM (50) and Telefónica Movistar Suzuki (49). MS Aprilia Racing failed to score points for the first time this season at Assen.
