Nobby Ueda continuing recovery process in Japan

Nobby Ueda continues on the road to recovery in his native Japan, although he is still confined to hospital with the broken pelvis he sustained during official practice for the Gran Premio Cinzano d´Italia. The Japanese veteran has planned a steady rehabilitation programme and should be fit in time for the Gauloises Ceske Republiky Grand Prix at the end of August. Ueda was replaced in the Semprucci Angaia Racing squad by Italian riders Alessandro Brannetti (Catalunya) and Fabrizio Lai (Assen), who will continue to deputise for the next two rounds of the championship.

Ueda, who this month celebrates his 35th birthday, is looking forward to his return to action. ´The fall caused injury to my backside and broke the right pelvis,´ he explains. `They are serious injuries but I am on the way to recovery. It is a slow and gradual process but I improve with each day. It is a shame that I cannot race at Donington Park and Sachsenring, but the important thing is that my spirits are still high despite my current situation.

$$$ Ueda is now looking forward to being discharged from hospital at the start of August: ´I think I will be out of hospital on the same day as the Suzuka 8 hours. I am looking forward to riding at my full potential when I return and I hope that my fans have a little patience and believe I will be back!´
