Argentina´s Sebastian Porto is planning make his 100th Grand Prix start in Great Britain this weekend. 23 year-old Porto made his debut as a wild-card rider in the 125cc class at the Argentinean Grand Prix in 1994 just a couple of weeks after celebrating his 16th birthday. In 1995 he again contested the Argentinean Grand Prix as a wild-card rider, this time in the 250cc class. He entered the World Championship series as a full-time rider in 1996 riding an Aprilia in the 250cc class backed by PR-2. He continued with the same team until the end of the 1998 season, scoring a best result of 6th place at the Dutch TT during this period.

Since 1999 he has raced Yamaha machinery, first in the Semprucci Team then for Edo Racing in 2000 and Team Yamaha Kurz in 2001 before moving to Petronas Sprinta Team for this year. During this period his best result was a 4th place finish achieved at the Argentinean Grand Prix in 1999 and at the last race at the Dutch TT. Of all the current Grand Prix competitors Porto is the rider with most starts in the 250cc class.
