Max Sabbatani comfortable after first laps back on board

Max Sabbatani today completed his first laps since breaking a leg in Mugello two months ago, and was delighted to report no adverse reactions to the injury. The diminutive Italian, who underwent an operation to save his leg immediately after the spectacular spill at his home track, has made a miraculous return to the GP fold after missing just three races and expressed his delight to be back on his Bossini Sterilgarda Racing Aprilia.

`It was great to be back out there – I felt comfortable and the bike was very fast,´ smiled Sabbatani after Friday morning´s free practice session, when he lapped quicker than his team-mate Stefano Bianco. `The operation was a complete success. I had a skin graft from one leg to the other and it worked perfectly. I have a metal plate in my bone which I will have removed this winter, but it is not uncomfortable so I hope to ride to the best of my ability this weekend´.
