Porto misses an opportunity to make history

Argentinean rider Sebastian Porto narrowly missed the opportunity to celebrate his 100th Grand Prix appearance with a podium finish. In Donington, Porto was leading the first half of the 250 Grand Prix, before his Yamaha engine gave up. Porto spoke about the problem that kept him away from fighting for the podium: ´What happened is a shame, as I was feeling good leading the race and the bike was really perfect. I took the lead at the start and keeping the pace didn´t prove that difficult. On lap 13, an engine failure wasted my opportunities of a podium finish on my 100th Grand Prix. I´m disappointed, but on the other hand, I´m also happy to see how things have been going this weekend´. The Argentinean is very satisfied with the progress he made with his bike, and hopes to keep improving: ´Overall we can be satisfied, the team did a great job and the bike was good from the start. I believe we´re heading in the right way, and the good results shouldn´t be long coming´.
