The Repsol Honda Team increases further its lead after Rossi´s win in Donington

Valentino Rossi´s win in Donington Park on last sunday allows the Repsol Honda Team to extend its lead in the MotoGP Teams World Championship once more, even if the Cinzano British Grand Prix has been the race in which the world reigning champion team scored the fewest points this season. Ukawa´s absence and Checa´s crash meant Repsol Honda added 25 points to its tally while the Marlboro Yamaha got Biaggi´s 20 points.

After Donington Park, the Repsol Honda Team is leading in the points table with 303 points, whereas the Marlboro Yamaha Team has scored 161 points so far. As Repsol Honda is dominating this Championship, the main interest is the fight for the second spot : Marlboro Yamaha has only a nine points advantage over the West Honda Pons Team. The Antena 3 Yamaha d´Antin lies in fourth, 76 points behind the Barros and Capirossi´s team, and is ahead of Gauloises Yamaha Tech 3 with 4 points.

Only one team didn´t finish in the points scoring zone : the MS Aprilia Racing Team. After scoring points in the six first rounds of the season, they missed the top 15 on the two last races.
