HRC reveal plans for eight RC211V machines in 2003

HRC yesterday held a conference at the Brno circuit to discuss the development of the all-conquering RC211V and invite the world´s press to an open Q&A session regarding their future plans. Top of the agenda for many journalists was to clarify exactly how many of the four stroke Honda machines will be on the grid next season and to get some ideas of which riders will be on board.

`We are planning to produce a maximum of eight full machines and possibly two engines for another chassis manufacturer but it depends on the demand,´ announced Mr K Nakajima, HRC Managing Director. `Three motorcycles will be ridden by factory contracted riders. Valentino Rossi has already signed and we are negotiations with Tohru Ukawa and Daijiro Kato for the other two. The remaining five riders will be selected by the teams so we cannot make any comment about them. Teams have until the middle of next month to make their requests and the purchase price will be around 20% more than the NSR.´
