Nakano hopeful of M1 ride in Malaysia

Shinya Nakano yesterday made the shock revelation that he hopes to be riding the four stroke Yamaha M1 for the final three races of the MotoGP season, starting in Malaysia on October 13. The Japanese rider also revealed that he has not yet signed a deal with Yamaha to ride the machine which took its maiden victory at Brno two weeks ago in 2003, but said he was hopeful an agreement would soon be in place with his current Tech 3 squad.

`We are waiting for confirmation from Yamaha that we will have a four-stroke M1 from Malaysia,´ Nakano told the press assembled at the Estoril circuit in Portugal. `It has been a tough season for us so far with the 500 but I am sure that with the four stroke I can be fighting with the front riders for the last three Grand Prix.´
