Mick Doohan on the four-stroke invasion at Motegi

Mick Doohan on the four-stroke invasion at Motegi

It is good to see more four-strokes on the grid here at Motegi, but I think only Barros will have an effect on the front of the field and the usual suspects will be at the front come Sunday. I think we are all pleased to see Kawasaki return to MotoGP and with Yamaha entering another M1 as a wildcard it should make the racing further down the field interesting as well as the usual battle out at the front.

Of course, two weeks ago Valentino Rossi won the World Championship with four rounds to go but I don´t expect him to back off at all – it is not his style. He rides to win, we have seen that in the past, and he will be just as determined to win here in Motegi as he is at every race. Kato is at his home track and is running well after day one, so it will be interesting, but as I say I think the end result will be the same as usual and I can´t see Rossi being beaten here.
