Remaining titles determined in Motegi

After Valentino Rossi secured the MotoGP World title a fortnight ago in Rio, the teams' World Championship was to be determined last week-end in Motegi. With Rossi on the second step of the podium and Ukawa coming home fourth, in front of Carlos Checa while Biaggi failed to score, the Repsol Honda clinched the Teams' title, with three races remaining.

The Repsol Honda team has now a 168 points lead over the Marlboro Yamaha team. The West Honda Pons lies in third position, 40 points behind Biaggi and Checa's outfit. The Antena 3 Yamaha d'Antin team is fourth after the Gauloises Pacific Grand Prix of Motegi, in which the Fortuna Honda Gresini was the only team which failed to score.

Moreover, as Barros scored the 12th win of the RC211V, Honda took the constructors' title with a 320 points tally, leading Yamaha by 99 points and Suzuki by 195 points.
