Kagayama and Ryo carry on testing duties for Suzuki

Japanese riders Yukio Kagayama and Akira Ryo will be in charge of the development programme of the Suzuki GSV-R that will be fielded in the 2003 MotoGP World Championship. Kagayama and Ryo were already the factory test riders this year, but they will follow a new schedule next year, as Kagayama will only ride the GSV-R in Europe and he will also take part in the British Superbike Championship. Ryo will mainly work in Japan, but also in Europe.

In 2002, Ryo contested seven rounds of the MotoGP World Championship as a wildcard. He took 18th in the series overall - his best result being second place in the opening round at Suzuka. Kagayama made a single Grand Prix appearance this year, in Germany. The Japanese rider replaced Kenny Roberts at the Sachsenring as the American had to undergo surgery.

The Suzuki team will resume testing on January in Sepang. The team will be testing at the Malaysian track from the 13th to the 15th. Recently signed John Hopkins will ride the GSV-R for a second time alongside his team mate, former World Champion Kenny Roberts.
