Dani Pedrosa, ready to do battle against the three champions

`Training, training and more training.´ This is Dani Pedrosa´s response when asked about his schedule over the last few days. The Telefonica Movistar Junior team rider switches between gym, jogging and cycling sessions on a daily basis, topping it up with the odd outing on his trial or cross bike. `I'm making up for the holidays I had! Now it's all about training and getting fit gradually according to my regime, and obviously, I'm still not at full fitness´.

The Catalan youngster will next be out on track at the IRTA tests which begin in Jerez from the 19th of this month. It will be his first chance to ride alongside his main rivals for the title, although the 17 year-old is wise enough to know that not too many conclusions can be drawn from this first meeting. `I don´t think that the tests offer much in the way of insight into the season ahead. There will always be some who post excellent times, but this doesn't mean that they´ll not encounter problems later. I simply see them as a way to hone our machine and get it working the way we want´.

Pedrosa, who took third spot in the 125cc World Championship last year, is looking forward to a hard fought season, This year is going to be very difficult indeed. Roberto Locatelli and Emilio Alzamora are returning to the fray, both have been champions before, whilst Arnaud Vincent will also be defending his crown on the new KTM. It´s a brand new bike, but I´m certain that it´ll be very quick. So that´s three champions on the track before we even talk about the Aprilia bikes, which as ever have several good riders on a fast bike´, he explains. `We will have several modifications on the bike, but I still don't know when we will get the new kit. I will have the same mechanics as last year though, and this is a good thing, they are a good bunch who know my needs well. They work very hard too and this makes me feel more confident about the year ahead´.
