Everything in place for the Red Bull Rookies Cup to MotoGP

The riders selected to compete in the upcoming edition of the Red Bull Rookies Cup to MotoGP, which starts next month, have taken delivery of the machines they will use to try and win a place amongst the elite of motorcycle racing. Honda have sent out 44 units of the RS 125, which have been revised by Sepp Schlögl,former chief mechanic of five times World Champion Toni Mang.

The series began in 2002, when ADAC and Honda created a junior category with the objective of bringing through young German talent to the MotoGP World Championship. ADAC Sporting Director, Hermann Tomczyk, explained the reason behind the initiative: `Along with Honda, we decided to give talented youngsters a chance and, at the same time, professional training which can put them on the right road to top class racing. We are also proud to have the support of Dorna, promoters of the World Championship, in this project´.

The 24 Red Bull Rookies Cup to MotoGP participants were selected by a panel of experienced former riders, including ex-World Champion Dirk Raudies. The top two riders in the series will next year be entered into the German Championship (IDM) with the ADAC Honda team, where they will look to cement their path to MotoGP.
