Statement by Carmelo Ezpeleta after meeting the MotoGP riders

Following his meeting with all the MotoGP riders held this afternoon at the Phakisa Freeway in Welkom, South Africa, Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta issued the following statement:

`It has been a very positive meeting with the riders in an atmosphere of full understanding and collaboration. In fact, the dialogue between myself and the riders, individually or collectively, has always existed in the past, and now we have decided to strengthen this communication. It is clear that we all have a common goal of making MotoGP as safe as possible and now we all have the commitment to work together in this sense. So the first measure we have agreed is that we will repeat this same meeting between the riders' representatives and myself at every Grand Prix, as they have nominated a commission formed by Valentino Rossi, Kenny Roberts, Sete Gibernau and Nobuatsu Aoki. $$$

This meeting will take place on the Saturday afternoons, and we will talk openly about all the topics that concern them, especially the safety issues and the critical points that they see on the racetracks. All in all I am satisfied that we have established this forum and this procedure, as this will be from now on the place to talk´.
