MotoGP paddock observe one minute silence for Daijiro Kato

The bustling paddock and pitlane, so often a frantic hive of activity over a GP weekend, was motionless and silent for one minute on Sunday as the team and fellow peers of Daijiro Kato, along with the entire World Championship motorcycle racing community, remembered one of their absent friends.

Sadly, it is the second time so far in this short season the MotoGP brethren has had to pause for one its lost members. Back at the Catalunya test in March a minutes´ silence was observed for the passing of Barry Sheene.

Eventual race winner Sete Gibernau stood in the pitlane flanked by his team and manager Fausto Gresini leading the tribute to their former team-mate.

After silence the four-strokes boomed into life and the MotoGP show went on.
