Four promising young Spaniards to run as `wild cards´ in Jerez

Four possible Spanish stars of the future will form the group of riders that will participate this weekend as wild cards in the Grand Prix of Spain.

David Bonache (LC Spain RFME), Sergio Gadea (Racing Team Gadea RFME), Rubén Catalán (MIR Racing RFME) and Ismael Ortega (Seedorf Racing FIM), will all be pitting their skills against the world's best on Aprilia machinery. The most experienced of this pack is Rubén Catalán, who has taken part in two rounds of the 125cc World Championship previously, always assuming the role of an invited rider. In 2002 at the same race and venue he qualified but could not start and at the last GP of the season in Valencia he finished in 26th place.

In accordance with a rule established by the FIM, all the riders who are participating for the first time in the World Championships have to attend a meeting that takes place the day before the first practice sessions get underway.
