Dani Pedrosa looks back on a complete weekend at Montmeló

It was a fruitful weekend for Dani Pedrosa, who not only won his home Grand Prix for the first time, but also provided a massive boost to his championship aspirations. The Telefónica Movistar Jr. team rider arrived at the sixth round of the season level on 91 points with Lucio Cecchinello at the top of the standings, but left with a 25 point advantage. Just hours after the race had finished, the youngster was reliving some of the key moments of his third victory of the season.

`The race was difficult – the bike was moving around so much and at the start I was really suffering, but I was able to stay at the front and, in the end, take the win which is fantastic,´ said Pedrosa. `I have to say thanks to the team and to Honda, who have worked to the maximum and I could not ask for any more from them.´.

On his new championship lead, thanks to a mechanical problem for Cecchinello, the 17 year old was typically prudent: `We have just seen how much things can change in one race. I hope it doesn´t happen to me, bnut the truth is it can happen to anyone. So I must be careful and keep my feet on the ground.´

The next round takes place at Assen, a track which holds fond memories for the teenager, who took a dominant first ever vicotry in the 125cc World Championship there one year ago.
