Héctor Barberá full of enthusiasm after his win at Donington Park

Teenager Héctor Barberá´s victory at the 125cc Cinzano British Grand Prix has naturally filled the Valencian full of confidence and enthusiasm for the rest of the Championship season. The first ever win for the rider from Dos Aguas, just 16 years old, has grabbed the attention of the local media, and only one day after he stood on the top step at Donington Park, the youngster of the MX Onda Aspar Team gave an audience to many sporting officials and press at a conference organized at the Valencia race circuit.

With his trophy on the table, he recounted his version of the race and then thanked the organisers at the circuit and his sporting mentors, Jorge Martínez Aspar and Julián Miralles, while expressing with confidence that his achievement was the ´first of many more to come.´

Team director Jorge Martínez Aspar, explained his joy behind Barbera´s emergence, a rider so young and with only one years experience in the World Championships after winning the Spanish Championships one year previously: `Sunday was an unforgettable day. I once took a double win as a rider and now I have experienced it as a manager; this is something I will never forget´. Concerning the future of Barberá, he remarked: `The objective is to be World Champion, but to make this goal little by little, race by race, without putting too much pressure on ourselves and always keeping our feet on the ground.´
