Bautista victorious in CEV round at Albacete

After scoring his first points of the season with fourteenth place at Donington Park last weekend, Spanish youngster Álvaro Bautista continued his good form with a confidence boosting first victory at the third round of the CEV Fortuna Spanish Championship at Albacete on Sunday. The Seedorf Racing rider, who had also been on the podium at the first two races, qualified on pole position – one second quicker than his closest challenger, Danish team-mate Robin Harms.

The 18 year old was unchallenged throughout the race as he stormed to victory by 21 seconds over second placed Jordi Carchano, whilst Ismael Ortega completed the podium. The win pushes Bautista into a clear championship lead of 25 points over second placed Julián Miralles, who was unable to race after injuring himself in qualifying.
