New Daijiro Kato replica helmet to arrive in Europe and USA soon

Shortly before his tragic and untimely death, former 250cc World Champion Daijiro Kato had begun designing a new helmet which he hoped would appeal to his fans and other motorcyclists around the world. The Japanese rider believed the colour scheme of his famous `manga eyes´ design was too radical for the street and was putting the final touches to a more subtle version with Shoei at Suzuka just days before his fatal accident. With the blessing of his family, the helmet has now been completed and is on sale in Japan, where it is already proving to be hugely popular.

Last month Kato´s official website (www.daijiro.net) made several units of the helmet available to order, with interest doubling the expected figures. The limited edition helmets were distributed two weeks ago complete with a photo and message of thanks from his family, but Shoei are now working hard to honour all the orders and manufacture a new batch for general sale in Europe and the USA.
