Quotes from the provisional front row

Randy De Puniet (1st): "After the bad experiences of Assen and Donington this pole position is very important for me especially from the psychological point of view. Today I worked only for the race so I am very satisfied. The championship is still wide open but I absolutely have to be on the podium on Sunday.

Roby Rolfo(2nd): "The bike was already improving at Donington and we did some tests last week which have brought it on even further. I felt comfortable from the start and the times came fairly easily. We have a couple of things to sort out in terms of front suspension and acceleration, but in general we are working very well.

Franco Battaini (3rd): "This is a good start to the weekend and a good lap time. My team-mate was sixth quickest so this shows that the team is working well here – hopefully I can defend this position tomorrow because it will be important to make a good start.

Sebastian Porto (4th): " I got a good rhythm together early on and I set my best time on the fifth lap. We decided to try out a harder front tyre but maybe it was too hard and I crashed in the corner after the downhill, luckily without consequences. Anyway, I think that without the crash I would have lowered my times."
