Loris Capirossi:

"We are happy with this position because we have been working hard with the setting of the bike. There was a problem with my first bike in the last ten minutes so I had to switch to my second machine but we still improved the time. It will be difficult to get a good race rhythm for everybody out there tomorrow but we will make sure that we are prepared."

Sete Gibernau:

"This is good enough because we started work yesterday with a lot of problems. All credit to my team because they worked hard to find some solutions so that we can be fast here this weekend like we were back in pre-season tests. The front end keeps on wanting to push and we have not fixed it completely yet. It will be a very difficult race tomorrow and possibly quite dangerous with this set-up. I mist sit down and talk some more with the team now but I am happy with the progress we made from yesterday."

Max Biaggi:

"I crashed after the second lap and I could not use the bike I prefer for the rest of the session. I do not know why I went down but there was a rider in front of me with a lot of smoke coming from his engine so I think he may have dropped some oil. I then lost the front without any warning. By the end I was not making bad lap times with the second bike but we will make our changes and be ready for tomorrow."

Valentino Rossi:

"I am very happy. We did some good work today and wanted the pole position so I was making some laps with a soft tyre. In the end the time was great. It will be hard tomorrow because the front row are all under 1" 59. Now I hope that we have some good weather and we can sort out the right tyre choice for the race."
