Youichi Ui: "The team still haven't given me any explanation..."

After losing his ride in the Sterilgarda Racing team, in the wake of the Gauloises Grand Prix of the Czech Republic, Youichi Ui is now in contact with various team with a view to participating in the next round of the World Championship, that takes place on 7th September in Portugal. The Japanese rider confirmed today that he still has had no explanation as to the reason of his departure from the Italian team.

"The team have not said anything to me and I haven't received one call. I just cant believe it!" remarked the 30 year old. `This is not the behaviour of a professional team and they like to say that they have a family structure. In spite of having a current contract, they cancelled it just so they can take the rider who has a ‘number one'. It's incredible."

Ui also stated that since the termination of his contract, several teams in the World Championship have shown an immediate interest in his services: "Yes, while this news surfaced I started to get calls from some other teams. I am speaking with some of them to be able to ride at the next GP in Portugal and finish the rest of the season. I would really like a squad that uses Dunlop tyres, even though now there are various things to take into consideration," added the former GP winner.
