Toni Elias (1st): "I wasn't too sure how things would go here. Everything went well at Brno and we found a good compromise with the bike. This has helped us stay on the right line even though this circuit has very different characteristics. I think I just needed a bit more time to be able to go as fast as I would have liked but in general I am very happy."

Randy De Puniet (2nd): "Today we tested many chassis settings with god results. In the morning we had some problems with the brakes but we solved them in the afternoon. I don't like this track because it is slow and with the wind we have to use different gear settings to what we had in the test in February".

Manuel Poggiali (3rd): " It's been the same story since the beginning of the season - Nieto always uses my slipstream to get the fast lap time so I decided to stop my lap because he has not offered to buy me dinner yet!"

Roby Rolfo (4th): "In general we are satisfied with the way we have started the GP. We have to continue working in this way tomorrow to try and determine some points on both the chassis and the engine at this short and demanding track. If the weather remains the same as today I don't think we will have any problem to improve the lap times tomorrow.
