Álvaro Bautista wins 125cc Spanish Championship

Álvaro Bautista took victory in the fifth round of the 125cc Spanish Championship at Albacete at the weekend, clinching his first national title. The 19 year old dominated from the first lap, taking a clear victory from Manuel Hernandez and Sergio Gadea to open up an insurmountable 111-point advantage over Gadea. After finishing runner-up to Hector Barbera in the same series last season, Bautista is also contesting his first 125cc World Championship this year with the Seedorf Racing team and currently lies 26th in the standings.

Meanwhile, former Grand Prix regular José Luis Cardoso won the Fórmula Extreme race at Albacete, with Iván Silva winning in Supersport. The sixth and final round of the popular and highly competitive series, takes place at Valencia on the 16th November, two weeks after the final race of the MotoGP season at the same circuit.
