Héctor Barberá aiming to make the perfect birthday present next Sunday

Hi everyone! At the moment I am very busy with plans for the last race of the year this weekend at my local circuit. I am pumped for every GP, but Valencia is always a very special time. I really want to do well there because the fans support me so much. There is slightly more pressure and time demands from the press. This is normal and while I could do without the extra responsibility I also know that it is there for a good reason.

It has only been a few days since I have been home and my body clock is still not back to normal because I wake up at strange times in the night; although I am training daily and feel in good shape. I have been hanging out at a mountain near Valencia, using my normal routine of running and cycling to keep in trim.

Last year I had really bad luck at the GP in Valencia, because I crashed in one of the practice sessions and fractured a toe on my foot. On Sunday it was hurting a lot and affecting my riding so that I could only take sixth. This time I want to finish the season with a good result. It is a track that I know well. I ride very fast there and am able to use less of my tyres than the other riders. I am convinced that if we work hard during the weekend we can leave with something very positive. I do not want to talk about winning…but obviously this is the idea in my head! Another thing is that this Sunday is my birthday, so a victory would be an awesome present. I would like to use these lines to send best wishes to Dani Pedrosa and I hope he gets better soon. See you in Valencia!.
