Five countries represented by wildcards for 250cc GP in Valencia

Five riders from five different countries will make up the wild cards entry this weekend for the 250cc Marlboro Grand Prix of Valencia.

Spaniard Alvaro Molina, riding a Yamaha, is the more familiar name among the group. During 1999 he also took part in the three GPs staged on home turf, with a best result of 21st place. In 2000 he was present at both Catalunya and Valencia, and in 2001 again contested the three Spanish rounds, slipping back to 22nd as highest position. This year he again travels to Valencia having raced at Jerez and Catalunya. He took a personal best of 19th at the circuit in southern Spain, while at Catalunya was forced to sit out due to an injury from a practice crash. The final race of the European 250cc series saw Molina grab a creditable second position.

Frenchman Gregory Leblanc (Honda) has finished fourth in the French Open series of Speed and on a 250 grabbed 12th place in the European Championship.
Radomil Rous (Aprilia) from the Czech Republic, Dutchman Patrick Lakerveld (Aprilia) and Austrian Yves Polzer (Honda) are also names who have appeared in the Euro 250 competition. Highest placed was Rous who finished fifth overall.
