Valentino Rossi, Pole position:

"My last lap was very good. We had two qualifying tyres for today and I used them both quite well. My first lap was great but then I pushed even harder for the second and used 100% of the tyre. I am happy because this track is usually a difficult place for me. I now just hope the weather is good for tomorrow."

Sete Gibernau, 2nd position:

"I have been pushing hard at every track trying to go for the win and will be doing the same here. We have been able to fight for the podium at every GP and this has been the story of a successful season. Valentino has been very strong lately and he is difficult to beat. I have mixed emotions here because it is the last race, I am at home with my friends, family and fans and I am second in the Championship; but I still want to make a good show and go for the victory. We have a good set-up on the bike and we will be ready."

Loris Capirossi, 3rd place:

"I am really happy with this position and we are all working hard in the team. We lost one practice yesterday because of the rain and this is not the best track for my bike so we have done well to be here. The race will be difficult but I will do the best I can."

Nicky Hayden, 4th spot:

"Today is the first time I am on the front row and I felt good out there. The Honda is working well and I am riding comfortably. This is the kind of track I am used to; tight and scrappy where I can hang the bike out. Tomorrow I want to go for it and not hold anything back. I was fastest this morning and shows I am making good progress and getting strong. With a little bit more time I think we are going to be dangerous!"
