KTM Red Bull to enter Junior Team in German Championship

KTM have unveiled further plans for their development of young road racing talent with the signature of two promising teenagers to run in the IDM (German Championship). Austrian Michael Ranseder (right) and German Stefan Bradl (left) will both ride factory supported KTM Grand Prix spec machines in the highly competitive 125cc series, whilst Australian Casey Stoner and Finn Mika Kallio represent the distinctive orange and black colours in the World Championship.

Ranseder, 17, finished second in the ADAC Junior Cup in 2002 and won the final race of the 2003 IDM series at Hockenheim whilst Bradl is the son of Helmut Bradl, who finished second in the 250cc World Championship in 1991. The 14 year old contested last season's Red Bull Rookie to MotoGP competition, scoring one podium, and will combine racing with his school commitments.

"Performance, personality and a positive outlook to the future were the main reasons that these outstanding young riders were selected," said KTM Chief Executive Stefan Pierer. "I hope that through the KTM Red Bull Junior Team that both Stefan and Michael can progress to the 125cc World Championship."

The pair had hoped to ride at Misano this weekend along with British youngster Midge Smart, but the test was cancelled because it was a track open day and none of the riders made the minimum age limit of 18.
