Dovizioso aims for win

Andrea Dovizioso says he will not be thinking about the 125cc World Championship when he lines up on pole position at Sepang tomorrow for a race he plans to win. The Italian youngster only needs to finish on the podium to secure the title tomorrow but, after dominating practice throughout the weekend and ending today's session almost a second ahead of his closest rival, says only one result will do.

"I am a 125cc rider, not a MotoGP rider, and in 125cc we try and win every race," smiled Dovizioso. "I want to show everybody that I am the top rider in the class and the best way to do that is by winning the race, so that is all I am concentrating on for tomorrow.

"I didn't expect to be so fast here this weekend because from the past two seasons that we have been here I have never finished higher than twelfth. So it is a surprise to be on pole but it is definitely a nice surprise.

"There have been some close finishes in the 125cc class this season, the closest in history in Qatar last week, and some big fights on the last lap so if I get the chance I will try and break away from the field and ride on my own. But, quite honestly, I can't think of a better way to win the title than by taking victory in the final corner."
