Aprilia out to regain ground in 125cc

2006 will be a crucial year in the World Championship for Aprilia. Making a big push for the title, the Italian factory will put out an impressive squadron of five riders in their quest for dominance.

Comprised of some of the best young talent in the category, Aprilia will be represented this season by riders of the quality of Mattia Pasini, Álvaro Bautista, Sergio Gadea and Héctor Faubel on the grid in 125cc, all of whom have been particularly strong during preseason.

"There are 22 Aprilias in the smaller cylinder category," explained Gigi Dall'Igna, Director of Sporting Activities for the Grupo Piaggio. "In order to support them as best we can, a group of ten technicians are at the disposition of various teams to help riders and technical bosses. They can assist in the solving of any problem that might occur."

"This category is really important for us, technically we have a very successful testing ground that also helps us develop the 250cc model" added Dall'Igna.

"2006 will be crucial for Aprilia, one in which we have to make up lost ground in order to be able to fight for victory on every occasion. The good form Aprilia is showing at the moment certainly allows us to be optimistic for the season."
