With Tomoyoshi Koyama suffering a fractured left foot in the second free practice session, and Alexis Masbou injuring his right foot during the race, the Malaguti box was the scene of the walking wounded in Jerez.

Japanese rider Koyama missed the second qualifying session for the 125cc race, but kept his place on the grid to finish in 12th, giving four valuable points to the team.

"Obviously they aren't going to be in the best shape, particularly Koyama, but I hope that the excitement and desire that they have can counteract the pain. The Clinica Movil crew indicated that Koyama will need 25 days to recover completely. Both are resting in order to accelerate the process," said a spokesperson for the team.

"The truth is that we are highly satisfied with the weekend, despite the injuries and the problems. Koyama decided to run and we are grateful to him. He has already demonstrated that he is a very brave rider, and for me he is one of the three or four most daring in the championship. I am sure that we will see him fighting all the way again in Qatar, even at less than 100% healthwise.
