Carlo Campetella "It´s not a great start to the season"

The Ticinohosting Capetella Racing team are experiencing a somewhat disappointing start to the 2006 season, again as a consequence of an unfortunate injury to Taro Sekiguchi. The Japanese rider suffered a repeat of his leg-fracturing crash in Jerez when he was set to be one of 250cc's top privateers.

Andrea Ballerini will once again stand in for Sekiguchi, who is recovering in Japan. The Italian rode in Qatar and will once again take to the track in Istanbul. His participation in China and France remains unconfirmed.

Team Manager Carlo Campetella provided motogp.com with an evaluation of his season so far, with riders in both of the lower cylinder classes.

"The 250cc team isn't having a particularly brilliant season. Unfortunately, for the second season in a row, Taro Sekiguchi was seriously injured in Jerez and will miss races. We were hoping for a good season because in the final tests we were fast, on the back of a 2005 season that was nearly cut in half. We are confident that he can return to form as soon as possible."

"With regards Chaz Davies, he has had a complicated start to 2006. He needs to improve his feel for the bike and fine tune it. For us, this year is very important, as it sees our debut in 125cc."

Campetella also showed his enthusiasm for the pair of young 125cc riders under his wing for their first season.

"Andrea Iannone is in his second year of racing, and he's demonstrating that he has the potential to earn good results. Simone Grotzkyj debuts this season, and we can see that he is improving race by race."
