Rossi fights back as Pedrosa struggles

Valentino Rossi came back from his discreet placing yesterday to cut more than a second off Loris Capirossi's 2005 pole position time in this morning's practice session.

The Camel Yamaha rider was out on his own during the practice, with only World Championship leader Nicky Hayden and Capirossi, yesterday's fastest rider, able to get with in half a second of him. Over a second behind, Kenny Roberts Jr took fourth, whilst the initially struggling Dani Pedrosa was able to put in the fifth fastest time of the morning. The Spaniard needed the assistance of a wooden box to climb onto the bike, and was in obvious pain as he put in one of the fewest amounts of laps.

Set Gibernau, Randy de Puniet, John Hopkins, marco Melandri and Casey Stoner completed the top ten.
