Viñales quickest in Assen morning warm-up

Under bright morning sunshine in the Moto3™ warm-up at the Iveco TT Assen it was Blusens Avintia’s Maverick Viñales who set the pace ahead of pole-sitter Sandro Cortese and Danny Kent.

The Moto3™ grid was tightly bunched throughout the whole 20 minute session, and it was championship leader Viñales, who had a disappointing qualifying session yesterday, that posted the quickest time of 1.44’550. This relegated Red Bull KTM Ajo’s Cortese into second, who was marginally quicker than his British teammate Kent. Estrella Galicia 0,0’s Miguel Oliveira and Racing Team Germany’s Louis Rossi complete the top five.

Moto FGR’s local rider Jasper Iwema was pushing too hard in the early part of the session and crashed out at turn 1, whilst Andalucia JHK Laglisse’s Ivan Moreno lost the back end of his bike and crashed out with 3 minutes remaining. Both riders walked away unhurt.
