Terol fastest as Espargaro crashes in Warm-Up

It was Nico Terol who topped Sunday morning’s Moto2™ Warm-Up in Valencia, while World Champion and pole-sitter Pol Espargaro unexpectedly crashed at Turn 2.

Espargaro walked away from the incident at Mick Doohan corner, but his Tuenti HP 40 bike sustained damage as it rolled across the gravel trap. In the meantime, Terol topped the timesheets for Aspar Team Moto2 with his best effort of 1’35.505. Tom Luthi went second for Interwetten Paddock Moto2 Racing, demoting Espargaro to third, while Simone Corsi and Mika Kallio completed the top five for NGM Mobile Racing and Marc VDS Racing Team, respectively.

Former title contenders Tito Rabat (Tuenti HP 40) and Scott Redding (Marc VDS) were tenth and 13th, while there was a second crash for the Pons team when Alex Pons went down towards the end of the session and bruised his right ankle in the process. Conditions continue to improve, with blue skies prominent on a slightly overcast morning at the Ricardo Tormo circuit.

The final Moto2™ race of 2013 begins at 12:20pm local time (GMT +1).
