Nachdem sich Marc Marquez in Mugello um nur 0.019 Sekunden geschlagen geben musste und Zweiter wurde, freut er sich nun umso mehr auf die siebte Runde in Barcelona. Beim Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya fühlt sich der Repsol Honda Pilot von seinem Fanclub und den heimischen Zuschauern besonders motiviert.
Marc Marquez: „Es gibt nichts Besseres als zu Hause vor deinen Leuten und deinem Fanclub zu fahren, durch die es dir gut geht und die dir zusätzliche Motivation, obwohl du am Ende natürlich so professionell wie möglich und wie immer komplett fokussiert auf die vor dir liegende Arbeit sein musst. Wir werden sehen, wie es dort läuft und wie immer werden wir hart am Setup des Bikes arbeiten, um das Beste aus dem herauszuholen, was wir haben – ein Ansatz, der bisher gut funktioniert hat. Ich weiß, dass Honda 100 Prozent gibt und in Montmelo werden wir unser Bestes geben, um ein weiteres gutes Ergebnis zu holen. Beim Test am Montag werden wir dann sehen, ob wir in der Lage sind, diese halbe Zehntelsekunde zu finden, die uns so sehr helfen würde, wie es uns im letzten Jahr bei der gleichen Gelegenheit schon gelang.“
Marc Marquez: “There’s nothing like racing at home in front of your crowd and your fan club to make you feel good and give you extra motivation, even if in the end you must try and be as professional as always and to completely focus on the job at hand. We’ll see how it goes there, and as always we’ll work hard on the bike setup in order to make the most of what we have, an approach that has worked well enough so far. I know that Honda is working at 100% and at Montmeló we'll give our best to get another good result. Then at the Monday post-race test we’ll see if we’re able to find that half a tenth that could help us a lot, as we were able to do last year on the same occasion”
