In Assen hat Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) zuletzt seinen ersten Saisonsieg gefeiert. Nun kommt der Italiener als WM-Dritter nach Deutschland, nur sieben Punkte hinter dem WM-Leader Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) und deren drei hinter seinem Teamkollegen Maverick Viñales.
I like the German GP, it is an unusual circuit... It will be essential to be competitive there too.Rossi freut sich auf den Sachsenring, weiß aber – wie alle anderen auch – nicht, was er vom neuen Asphalt erwarten soll.

„Ich bin sehr glücklich, denn das Rennen in Assen war unglaublich. Wieder auf dem obersten Treppchen zu stehen und den Sieg zu holen war mir sehr wichtig. Diese Emotionen sind immer fantastisch und es war auch wichtig für die WM. Beim Sachsenring weiß ich nicht, was mich erwartet. Wir haben es ja jetzt gehabt, dass sich von einer Strecke zur nächsten alles ändert. Wir müssen daher gut arbeiten und immer für die nächste Strecke die bestmögliche Lösung parat haben. Ich mag den Deutschland GP und das ist eine ungewöhnliche Strecke, ganz anders al Assen. Auch dort müssen wir stark sein. Wir werden alles geben.“
Valentino Rossi: “I‘m very happy because the race in Assen was incredible. Returning to the top step and taking the victory was very important for me, because the emotions are always fantastic, and it was also important for the championship.
