Zarco: “I will push every time”

After a tougher German GP, the Frenchman is aiming to get back on track with a bang at Brno

The summer break is over and it’s finally time for the Monster Energy Grand Prix České republiky to fire up, with Johann Zarco (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) particularly keen to get straight back in the fight at the front after a more difficult German GP. As always, the rookie says he’ll push every time he’s on track – and is hoping he’ll have a chance at a second MotoGP™ podium.

Last year Zarco find it tough going in tough conditions, but in 2015 he took a stunning win at the track on the way to his first crown. He also has another previous podium at Brno in the 125 World Championship, and a host of top ten finishes to back it up since.

Johann Zarco: “The Czech GP is coming and after the summer break, my energy is good. I have a lot of confidence for this track and since the start of my racing career, I’ve been quite fast there. It was a tricky weekend at the Sachsenring, but I learnt a lot, and Jonas’ podium performance has given me a high level of motivation for the next rounds. When I struggled a bit in Germany, he did such a solid job, which means that we have the right bike and team. Overall, the layout of the Brno track is very good for the Yamaha so I will be focused and I hope to achieve strong results on all three days. I will push every time and work for the race where maybe I can get a podium.”
