Honda have wrapped up the Constructors Title at the Malaysian GP following Repsol Honda Team’s Marc Marquez taking fourth. The Japanese marque also took the crown in 2016 and have successfully defended it with one race remaining; now 29 points clear of Ducati in second.

In each race, manufacturers are awarded points equal to their best rider’s result, with the title determined by the total points earned - just as it is in the Riders World Championship. Honda's Constructors crown was won by the combined efforts of Repsol Honda Team's Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa on Honda factory bikes, and LCR Honda's Cal Crutchlow.
Marquez has taken six wins so far this year and been top Honda 13 times, with Pedrosa finishing top Honda twice including his stunning win at Jerez. Crutchlow has taken one podium and was top Honda in Argentina, as well as being the first over the line for the factory at his home race at Silverstone.
Since winning its first premier class title in 1966 on a 4-stroke 500cc Honda RC181, Honda has won a total of 23 constructors titles. That’s included in a total of 67 constructors’ titles over all classes in the Road Racing World Championship.
