MotoGP™19 and Esport Championship presented at Mugello

Dorna Managing Director and Milestone Marketing Manager talk about the overhauled MotoGP™ video game and the eSports championship

MotoGP™19 will give players the opportunity to take part in the best motorcycle racing show on earth, featuring all the official content from the 2019 MotoGP™ season, with all riders, official rosters from MotoGP™, Moto2™, Moto3™, the Red Bull MotoGP™ Rookies Cup, and up to 50 historic riders.

In a presentation hosted in the impressive Red Bull Energy Station, thanks to eSport partner Red Bull, on Friday evening, a healthy attendance saw previews of the new game, which boasts improved graphics and gameplay.

Developers Milestone striving to improve in-game bike physics and introducing dedicated servers to enhance online competition. The reintroduction of the ‘Career Mode’ will also allow players to rise through the Grand Prix classes, with new emphasis placed on developing the MotoGP™ machines through a racing season.

MotoGP™19 will be released on June 6 on PlayStation4, Xbox One and Windows PC/STEAM™ platforms.

Following the incredible success of the past two years, the MotoGP™ eSport Championship is back for a third season in 2019, offering fans from across the globe the chance to become World Champion. With a global reach of 143 million people, and 46 million video views online over the past two years, the MotoGP™ eSport Championship continues to grow apace. 

With a first prize of a rapid BMW M135i xDrive and a runner-up prize of a new Yamaha YZF-R3, and a third place prize courtesy of MotoGP™ eSport partner Lenovo™, the stakes are higher than ever as gamers worldwide battle to become the third MotoGP™ eSport World Champion.

On Friday a selection of Grand Prix riders including Jorge Martin, Brad Binder, Fabio Di Giannantonio and Can Öncü joined reigning eSports World Champion Lorenzo Daretti aka Trastevere73 to sample the new gameplay. A number of other 2018 finalists were also present, including runner-up “Eleghost555” and third-placed “AndrewZH”. It was met with rave reviews.

The Championship’s online presence across YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Twitch and the MotoGP™ eSport official website continues to grow. With 16 broadcasters producing 351 hours of content and ever increasing number of engagements, 2019 will be another monumental year for the MotoGP™ eSport Championship.
