As the start of the 2020 MotoGP season approaches, Spaniard Iker Lecuona has undergone surgery on his right arm to repair chronic exertional compartment syndrome.
The class rookie will compete for Red Bull KTM Tech 3 in the year ahead, and has already impressed on MotoGP machinery after he turned heads at the 2019 season finale at Valencia, where he deputised for the injured Miguel Oliveira.
Chronic exertional compartment syndrome is an injury associated with young athletes and symptoms include a lack of strength – and even numbness – in the arm.

A tweet from Red Bull KTM Tech 3 stated Lecuona’s surgery was a success and indicated the recently turned 20-year old will be present in Malaysia at the start of February for the first MotoGP test of the year.
