MotoE™ FP1: Granado and Aegerter put down a marker

The Brazilian and the Swiss rider were just under half a second clear of last year's Champion Jordi Torres

One Energy Racing's Eric Granado topped the first FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup session of 2021 as the all-electric class kicked-off their season at the Red Bull Spanish Grand Prix. The Brazilian posted a 1:48.057, just under a second adrift of the fastest-ever lap he set at the Jerez Test a fortnight ago, and ended up only 0.077 seconds clear of Dynavolt Intact GP's Dominique Aegerter.

Last year's World Cup winner Jordi Torres (Pons Racing 40) was third quickest but needs to find something extra in FP2 as the Spaniard was just under half a second away from the leading duo. 2019's World Cup winner Matteo Ferrari (Indonesian E-Racing Gresini MotoE) was fourth overall ahead of rapid rookie Fermin Aldeguer (Openbank Aspar Team) in fifth.

Top five:
1. Eric Granado (One Energy Racing) - 1:48.057
2. Dominique Aegerter (Dynavolt Intact GP) + 0.077
3. Jordi Torres (Pons Racing 40) + 0.511
4. Matteo Ferrari (Indonesian E-Racing Gresini MotoE) + 0.650
5. Fermin Aldeguer (Openbank Aspar Team) + 0.652
