Augusto Fernandez quickest, poleman Raul Fernandez crashes

It was contrasting fortunes for the namesakes in Sunday morning's Warm Up

Augusto Fernandez is aiming to end a long victory wait at the scene of his last win in 2019, and the Elf Marc VDS rider got his Sunday off to a perfect start with a 1:36.886 seeing him take P1 in the final session ahead of lights out. Aron Canet (Inde Aspar Team) is 0.127s behind Fernandez, while Championship leader Remy Gardner was third quickest in the morning.

Sam Lowes (Elf Marc VDS Racing Team) leads Xavi Vierge (Petronas Sprinta Racing) and Tony Arbolino (Liqui Moly Intact GP) in the other top six places, while poleman Raul Fernandez (Red Bull KTM Ajo) crashed at Turn 1. The rookie Spaniard came away from the incident unharmed as did Celestino Vietti (SKY Racing Team VR46) and Marcel Schrötter (Liqui Moly Intact GP) when they went down earlier in the session.

All three will join the rest of the grid later on for lights out, with the Moto2™ race underway at 12:20 local time.
