Fantasy managers commit to Aprilia switch ahead of Austria

Maverick Viñales is the most transferred in rider whilst teammate Aleix Espargaro is the man managers have transferred out the most

An Aprilia Racing switcheroo is the most popular move for MotoGP™ Fantasy managers ahead of this weekend's CryptoDATA Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring. Following back-to-back podium finishes, Maverick Viñales is the most popular transfer in the wake of the British Grand Prix, whilst teammate Aleix Espargaro, rather unsurprisingly given the question marks over his fitness, is the most transferred out rider.

Viñales should definitely be on your radar given his recent form but don't get rid of Espargaro just yet. Although the Spaniard has failed to finish on the podium in his last four races, he's shown podium potential at all four. A last-lap howler in Barcelona, being mugged at the death by Jack Miller in Germany, a coming together with Fabio Quartararo in the Netherlands and a huge highside brining a crashing half to his race-winning pace at Silverstone are exactly why Espargaro hasn't brought home the fantasy points he probably merited. Do not be surprised if his fortunes changes at the Red Bull Ring, which is why motogp.com believes he's still a sensible selection for your MotoGP™ Fantasy line-up.

Another factory pairing you should keep an eye on are the KTM duo of Brad Binder and Miguel Oliveira. The pair have both been victorious at the orange army's home event and both made a significant step forward following the summer break thanks to a handful of new updates for the RC16.

Another off-the-radar pick could be 2020 World Champion Joan Mir. Nobody on the premier class grid has had more Grand Prix success in Austria than Mir and he could turn his season around this weekend.

It goes without saying that, if you have room in your budget, Ducati should be a priority as your manufacturer. The Bologna brand dominated the first five races at the circuit before KTM then battled back by winning two of our three last two Grands Prix there. However, Francesco Bagnaia has won back-to-back races for only the third time in his MotoGP™ career, Jack Miller has enjoyed podium success in the Styrian hills and Jorge Martin won his debut MotoGP™ race in Spielberg just twelve months ago, meaning Ducati are the factory to have.
