Italian Dennis Foggia has set the pace in FP1 for Moto3™’s stop on the Adriatic coast, the Gran Premio Gryfyn di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini. The Leopard Racing rider was credited with the fastest lap on Friday morning having clocked a 1:42.442 on his penultimate effort around the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, leaving him just 0.056 seconds clear of last-start winner Ayumu Sasaki. The ‘Crazy Boy’ unofficially set a faster lap, a very late 1:42.306, but it was chalked off for a breach of track limits and the Sterilgarda Husqvarna Max rider would be classified second on a 1:42.498.
In the end, it's actually @dennisfoggia71 that tops #Moto3 FP1! ????@AyumuSasaki1's late lap was deleted due to track limits! ????#SanMarinoGP ???????? pic.twitter.com/HBQWG6R9il

Izan Guevara (Gaviota GASGAS Aspar Team), who is second in the World Championship by a margin of five points, claimed third for the session on a 1:42.665, ahead of Carlos Tatay (CFMoto Racing PruestelGP) and Diogo Moreira (MT Helmets - MSI). The rider at the very top of the Championship standings, however, that being Sergio Garcia (Gaviota GASGAS Aspar Team), would only be classified 18th on a 1:43.528 after he too had his run-ins with the track limits sensors.
Jaume Masia (Red Bull KTM Ajo) had a painful end to his morning running, highsiding at Turn 15 with around 15 minutes to go in the session. Masia was able to walk away, but was obviously sore as a result of the spill. He was not alone, either, with Mario Aji (Honda Team Asia) also having a crash at Turn 15, with the chequered flag out.
The first faller of the weekend ????
