45 days after suffering a small fracture in his left hand while training on a motocross bike, Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™) returned to the dirt with Moto2™ star Tony Arbolino (Elf Marc VDS Racing Team) over in the USA.
Speaking during Yamaha’s team presentation, Quartararo admitted the winter break has been intense since picking up the hand injury. Unable to train on an MX bike while injured, preparations for the 2023 campaign have been hampered and limited to doing plenty of cardio exercises. In other words, training that’s a lot more boring than ripping around a motocross track all day.
Now though, the Frenchman has made a full recovery as he eyes up plenty of time on the dirt in America ahead of the Official Sepang Test, which begins on the 10th of February. El Diablo posted the news on his Instagram story as he and his good friend Arbolino took to Fox Raceway in California.
Preparations for 2023 will really click into top gear for Quartararo over the next couple of weeks before the premier class field head to the Sepang International Circuit for the eagerly anticipated three-day Official Test. There, we’ll see where he and Yamaha initially stack up against their rivals.
