Warm up honours went to Alex Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP™), as he flew to the top of the timesheets on Sunday morning ahead of the Grande Prémio TISSOT de Portugal with a 1:38.719, with his brother Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) joining him in the top 3 for the first warm up session of the year. Despite early technical issues, Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™) prevented it from being a Marquez one-two putting his Yamaha M1 in 2nd place.
With the first Grand Prix of 2023 beckoning, the riders hit the circuit to fine-tune the final adjustments ahead of Sunday's Race. Quartarao's day didn't start the way he wanted, with the Frenchman being forced to return to the pits early on with technical issues on his Yamaha YZF-M1. The 2021 Champion did make it back out on track and finished the session in 2nd place.
Fresh from the battle for Tissot Sprint glory, Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) started his weekend with a P4 in warm up, with the man of the moment Jack Miller (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) rounding out the top 5. Tissot Sprint winner Francesco Baganaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) started his day with 7th spot as his attention turns to doing the double in Portimao.
The MotoGP™ grid will be back on track for the first Grand Prix of 2023, so make sure to tune in as the action commences at 14:00 local time (GMT).
